{Invisible}

Have you ever wished you could make yourself invisible? Or, make like Harry Potter and whip out an invisibility cloak? Well lately... that's how I've felt.

The reason?

I think it's because it is finally starting to sick in that my brother is really gone for 2 years. So far it's only been 3 weeks and I've handled it, well, better than I thought I would. It's tough when I get his letters. Every letter I get I have to take into another room to read so that my family doesn't see me get teary eyed. {sorry mom, I wish I was tougher} When I write my letters to him there is so much that I want to say but can never write on paper. Ya there have been a couple letters I have wrote him about how bad I miss him and how badly I want him to come home... those letters never made it in the mailbox. They still lay in a clump on my desk. Instead I change my letters to words of encouragement and happiness. Words of advice with lots of smiley faces and drawings. I guess in some ways I made a part of me invisible.. to him... but I can still see it. I can still see the letters sitting on my desk and it's times like these when I wish I could make myself invisible.


In case that isn't reason enough... I think it's starting to sink in that Nate is leaving in 2 weeks. 2 weeks and four days...one of those weeks he'll be gone and the other is spent with other family flying in. So that leaves us with 4 days...just typing that made my heart sink a little.
Who would've thought that letting these boys do such a good work could be so difficult?
Definitely not me. There is so much I wanted to do still. So much we've talked about. It seems like only yesterday Nate was saying, "Don't worry about it, I've still got a year." Now it just seems like a ticking clock. Sometimes it feels like I'm just waiting for the final buzzer to ring.

So what do you do? What do you do after he's gone? Of course write him. Of course leave your room other than simply going to the bathroom, showering and eating. But what do you do? Well I guess that's for me to find out. The day that final buzzer rings is the day we start new adventures. Things are going to change. He will be doing nothing but serving and doing the work of the Lord 24/7. I will be starting a new chapter and going to college and dating and all kinds of things. I should be excited. I should be all kinds of things. But the fact is... I don't know what I am. And it's times like these when I could drape over that invisibility cloak. So for now I just am. There isn't anything I am. I just am.
Just am invisible.

Just A {few} of My {favorite} Things

Only a few more days to goof off and be a high school student (: Also only a few more days until Taylor leaves for his mission... ahh!

So in honor of Taylor leaving, him and I decided to have a brother/sister day. We went up to South Towne in Sandy, ate Costa Vida and went shopping at our favorite store {Nordstrom Rack} for graduation dresses and shoes.

We ended up with 2 dresses and 2 shoes. Haha. After our shopping trip we went to see Hunger Games again. That was on the list of things Taylor wanted to do before he leaves. It was just as good the 3rd time. (:



My very last day at Mountain View High School is done and over with!! Sad but very very exciting! I made it through and now I never have to go there again! (until next week) hahaha. I finally got my cap & gown & chords {business & science} and I'm ready to go! Just hand me my diploma! (:

As soon as I got home I just HAD to try on the cap & gown just to... ya know.. make sure it fit ;)

{Too Much} in {Too Little} time

I survived! This week was probably the most important week {schoolwise} that I've had all year. Attendance had to be made up, everything for Mr. Clark's classes were due, textbooks, making up math credit, finishing seminary things, getting ready for Taylor's mission farewell on Sunday, projects due, presentations due, graduation announcements made and sent!

AHH!

But of course there is always a catch... I think sometimes mother nature just likes to mess with me because in this particular week I've been really, really, REALLY sick! ..Gay.

So as I am writing this I just realized that it has been a really long time since I last posted so let me update you:


I am 18 years old now! :)
My boyfriend is 19 :(
I got him a really cool watch for his birthday present! :)

.. and also I'm taking him to Lake Powell with me {again} :) oh and we've been dating for a year!

 There are only 12 more days until Taylor leaves :( which means there are only 12 more days until graduation :/

So basically it is madness around this place! hense why I haven't posted! But that's ok! Just wait until after nect week then we'll be all good ;)

oh and p.s. I will be in charge of Taylor's mission blog!! I will post here AND on Facebook so that anyone who wants to can follow that!! :) Yay for {almost} Elder Fernandez!

Hello! It's been a while since I've posted on my blog. Sad.

Well I just wanted to share some pictures from Hawaii. I said I would do that and I am finally getting around to it (:

MY {little} Slice of Paradise

Since I was thinking about my wedding... I started to think about my wedding CAKE. And if you saw from the prior post, the wedding cake I wanted was "Red Velvet Short-Cake"

Well it really made me start to crave Red Velvet... well... ANYTHING! So I decided to make some Red Velvet Cupcakes!

Here are some pictures of how they turned out! They're super cute! And are going to make great Valentines Day gifts ;)

{Re} Model

This week was "redo my room" week! After cleaning my room when I was sick my mom came down and said "You need a headboard for your bed." And of course I agreed! So what was the first thing I did? Well the first thing any girl would do... Go to Pinterest. I did and I found a really easy way to make one. Well I told my mom my idea and she loved it. So we started to brainstorm and actually came up with ANOTHER way to do it!

I will put the tutorial up in a couple days. We are finishing Taylor's right now so I'll show you what both a boy and a girls will look like!

Another thing I made for my room is a colorful fabric wreath. Just some precut fabric from Walmart and wire wreath frame. Tied knots in the middle and added some white to it. Super simple.

I also got a rug for $20 at IKEA, a couple wall prints from Target and a very colorful and pretty print from my Evan's Gatehouse No.1. And we also sewed a runner out of place mats from Target. (:

And now my room is complete! Thanks so much to Mom & Dad for helping me put it all together!
